A Father Still Searches for Answers
The Kvalvog family is speaking out after the release of The Minnesota State Patrol’s final report on what killed both of their sons in a tragic accident back in June.
Ray Kvalvog reached out to us after our story on the final crash report yesterday and he says even with its release, the family is still searching for answers.
“I feel sorry for my boys I mean does that make sense? It’s my boys,” said Ray.
He says there is no amount of paperwork, or report data that can heal the pain that he and his wife are battling every day.
“As a parent, you are always the ones there to defend your kids. You always want the best for your kids. I mean most parents, that’s what they aspire to do,” said Ray.
Like the crash report explains, their 2010 Dodge Ram pickup was serviced for recall errors back in 2014.
However, Ray says he believes the vehicle was put on another recall list in July after the accident occurred.
He feels there may have been a mechanical issue that may have contributed to the accident and wants more investigation.
“If you see something that might be a little bit of a grey area that might be a little bit negative to them you just want to come to the rescue,” said Ray.
He also wants the search for the semi driver that may have been involved to be on going.
He says those two things will give him and his wife Kathie the closure they need.
“It’s going to be finding the semi driver is number one, and I think the highway patrol has really reiterated that to me so that’s ongoing, and good, or bad, or indifferent to get the experts to take a look at the engineering of that truck,” said Ray.
He plans to investigate any vehicle mechanical issues, and is offering a $50,000 reward for any information regarding the semi–truck driver.
