Police Make Three Arrests During Stolen Vehicle Traffic Stop

Three people are taken into custody after officers on both sides of the river respond to the report of a stolen vehicle.

As Moorhead officers attempted to pull over the stolen vehicle, the car crossed over Veterans Memorial Bridge.

Fargo police were notified and assisted Moorhead officers with the stop.

The 16-year-old male driver from Moorhead was arrested and charged with felony theft of a motor vehicle.

28-year-old Isaac Juma of West Fargo was arrested and charged with possession of meth.

30-year-old Mowalid Hirsi of Moorhead was arrested for violating probation.

Fargo Lt. Michael Mitchell says the teamwork of law enforcement on both sides of the river makes all the difference in helping make arrests like these.

“Many, many years ago something that happened over there isn’t something we could do a lot about on our side of river, but now based on the collaborative environment that we do have we’re able to solve crimes and make arrests on both sides on the river,” said Lt. Michael Mitchell of Fargo Police.

Police say the car was stolen out of a garage in south Moorhead on Friday.
