Fargo’s Last-Minute Holiday Shoppers Rush To Get Gifts

Last minute customers are strolling in before stores close for Christmas.

Target is one of the stores planning on staying open late tonight.

Customers have one final chance to snag some gifts before the doors close at 10.

I spoke with some people on why they waited for the last day possible to buy gifts.

“I just haven’t had time til now. I picked a really bad time to move,” says, Audrey Heilman.

Heilman of Fargo like many shoppers across the nation is just trying to finish shopping for the few items left on her list.

With aisles now more on the bare side, it looks like she’ll be finishing just in time.

“It looks pretty nice in here, I’m glad I didn’t hit the crowd,” says Heilman.

But this Target has had its fair share of chaos.

The store manager says this past Saturday and last night were among some of the busiest day of the season.

Some shoppers skipped the mayhem yesterday to risk the chance for a less hectic day on Christmas Eve.

“Actually I was going to come out last night but it was pretty crazy. But today’s pretty mellow,” says Fargoan Quynton Johns.

A shopper said that she actually enjoys shopping on Christmas Eve, the challenges that come with last minute shopping are all part of the fun.

“I love shopping on Christmas Eve because it is hectic and the shelves are empty and you have to look for something else and get creative,” says shopper, Deborah Nelson.

This shopper says even the struggle of finding parking is entertaining but this could all be due to having minimal anxiety.

Nelson adds, “Well I’m not in a rush. I got churches in the afternoon and I’m not cooking tonight so it’s not stressful for me.”

The shopping frenzy is winding down.

Walmart is closing at 8, Toys R Us at 9.
