Family Rings In The New Year Welcoming a New Addition

What better way to ring in the New Year than welcome a bundle of joy?

One family’s New Year’s was interrupted with a pleasant surprise.

For parents Kody and Rachael, New Year’s Day will forever mean something special.

At 12:07 this morning, weighing 7 pounds 6 ounces, their son Connor Alan was Sanford’s first baby of the New Year.

“Before we were joking around like I want to get induced on New Year’s or a little but before New Year’s and boom here he is,” said Rachel.

Rachel’s due date was supposed to be January 9th. They say Connor’s early arrival was something they didn’t see coming.

“Yeah it was a surprise. We, actually me and my son were playing PlayStation and everyone was kind of hanging around the house just enjoying the night,” said Kody.

Kody and Rachel decided not to know the sex of the baby until birth, but Rachel says her motherly instincts gave her a hint or two.

“I felt yup, I was like more thinking about boy clothes, boy names, and boy I was like what about a girl I need to think of a girl too,” said Rachel.

The couple says Connor’s name was also something that just felt right.

“We had a couple of other names, but then he was born and we were just like what about Connor? It just kind of sporadically popped up,” said Rachel.

Kody and Rachel have two other little ones, and say Connor is the last addition that has made their family complete.
