Foster County States Attorney Resigns

The Foster County States Attorney has stepped down after being asked to resign.

Paul Murphy had served as States Attorney since 2002.

County Commission Chairman Josh Dreher says the county in recent months has received “inaccurate and unreliable legal advice” from Murphy, and that he has allowed personal issues to negatively affect his performance.

Murphy says he resigned this week because the county “has just become too messy and too much of a hassle.” He says he doesn’t get paid enough “for what I have to put up with.”
