Second Hockey Player Sentenced In Teen Sex Tape Case

The second junior year hockey player convicted of child pornography has been sentenced.

20–year–old Brandon Smith will serve 45 days in jail and 10 years of probation.

Smith and fellow player, 20–year–old Thomas Carey, both pleaded guilty in November to making a sex video with a 15–year–old girl.

Neither player will have to register as a sex offender as part of the plea deal.

Prosecutor Pam Harris had this to say on the behalf of the victim.

“She, I think is a little disappointed. She’s glad it’s over but I think she has a lot that she would’ve liked to say but I mean she’s been put through the ringer by the media, the public, by the defense attorneys and doesn’t want to subject herself to more of that,”says Harris.

The probation measures include no contact with the victim and no contact with minor females.

Any violations during his probation can lead up to 10 years in jail.
