National Group Teaches Finer Musical Points

A National Music Group with ties to Valley played a concert for Orchestra students at Davies High School.

Beo String Quartet features two brothers from Devils Lake who brought their talents to Davies High School today to give students a lesson on the finer points of music appreciation.

“Whether it’s the students showing them how to listen to what they played, to listen to another one played, or whether it’s the audience letting them know that even though it’s complicated music,” said Sean Neukom, quartet member and Devils Lake native. “There are separate things to listen for which, of course, enhances the experience, which is what the experience is about to begin with.”

The string quartet also made appearances at South and North High Schools earlier in the month.

Sean and Jason hope that by encouraging young people to appreciate the finer points of music that more will pursue their own musical aspirations.
