Doug Burgum Announces Run for Governor
Entrepreneur Doug Burgum is all in.
“And that’s why I’m announcing today that I’m running for governor,” said Burgum.
The former Great Plains CEO and businessman responsible for revitalizing Fargo’s downtown is running for governor of North Dakota.
Attorney General Wayne Stenehjem and Bismarck Dr. Rick Becker are the only other Republicans in the race so far.
There are no Democrats in the race, yet.
Burgum lays out what his campaign will look like. “The path that I’m choosing is that after taking a look at all of the options because I want to become an elected leader, I want to serve as governor , I know that I have the ability to change the trajectory of this state.”
Burgum is running as a Republican and says he will campaign at the party’s state convention in the spring.
He is also prepared to take his campaign to the June primary if he doesn’t receive support from the party.
