Battle Of The Robots…Lego Style.
30 teams from the F-M area competed in the first ever Lego league scrimmage.
Teams are made up of students from 3rd grade through 8th grade.
But don’t let their age fool you.
Students completed a series of tasks with the robots they designed, built and programmed themselves.
“There are things that I wouldn’t be able to do that they’re able to do. And the amount of intensiveness from some of these younger teams making sure that their wheels are aligned so that the program is going to be run exactly the way it’s planned,” says Holly Erickson, NDSU College of Engineering.
The robot games are gaining popularity, with 80 teams across the state.
The scrimmage is aimed to get more youth interested in innovative education.
