Frazee Proposing Solar Wind Hybrid Project

The town of Frazee is looking into a possible solar wind hybrid project.

The nearly $11 million project would be a huge economic boost for the city bringing in hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Officials conducted a wind study back in 2004 and found there was plenty of wind power for the project.

It would have two turbines and three acres of solar panels.

“This is just an investigation into the possibility of other ways for the city to make money that would relate to economic development other than building a big factory,” says Mayor Hank Ludtke of Frazee.

Some people are concerned about the turbines killing bats and birds in the area.

The project still has to go before a committee before it’s approved.
