A former Twin Cities anchor steps into a new role and takes the stage.
Don Shelby, who anchored at WCCO out of Minneapolis, stars as Mark Twain in the musical, “River Songs and Tales with Mark Twain.”
The show plans to make stops in four different towns.
The first performance on the tour is at Concordia College in Moorhead.
Members of the group Vocal Essence will join the show as the chorus, while Shelby stands alone for reciting Mark Twain quotes.
“There might be people who enjoy performances like Mark Twain and instead of getting into the classical music; we’ll do some of the old tunes. But we’ll do it in fine choral fashion with some of the greatest voices in the country,” says Shelby.
The show will be in Detroit Lakes April 8th, then to Mora and finishing in Grand Rapids
