Big Honor for Wahpeton Superintendent

The superintendent of Wahpeton Public Schools receives a special honor.

Rick Jacobsen is North Dakota’s Superintendent of the Year for the state’s Southeast Region.

He was nominated by the region’s other public school superintendents.

Jacobson also pointed out a few of the school district’s high points.

“I think we’re doing a lot of good things, but whether it’s more than any of other schools, you know, obviously our new school built – our elementary school we built – additions to the high school.  We really tried to involve a lot of the area schools in our kindergarten pre-service.”

Jacobson says working with other school districts in the area was a vital part of the region’s overall success in education.

It is the second time he has won the award.
