Fargo Home A Total Loss After Early Morning Fire

An early morning fire sends one person to the hospital.

Adam, a Fargo family is without a home after it took four crews to put the fire out.

When crews got to the house, they found one person trying to escape from a basement window.

That person was taken to the hospital by the FM ambulance.

The remaining four people in the house were able to escape.

But Firefighters stayed outside due to heavy flames and smoke coming through the roof.

They say it would have been too dangerous to send crews inside.

“It is significantly damaged our goal is to always keep it in a room of origin but they had to take a defensive operation immediately upon arriving so the opportunity it not to contain it to the room anymore,” says Fire Marshall Ryan Erickson.

Crews say it was the working smoke alarm that saved the family waking all five people up in time to escape.

Crews are still investigating the cause of the fire.

No nearby homes were damaged.
