Forget Valentine’s Day; It’s Valentine’s Weekend!

Valentine’s Day turned into Valentine’s Day weekend for some local floral shops.
 
Shotwell Floral experienced a slower Valentine’s Day than usual, and that’s exactly what workers expected.

Since the holiday falls on a Sunday Valentine’s Day lasted throughout the weekend.

But to help out those last minute buyers, Shotwell was still delivering flowers up until the late afternoon.

“Yeah a little bit more of a whole Valentines weekend otherwise next year it’s on a Tuesday so therefore really it’s going to hit big on Tuesday and then we’ll have some deliveries that also go out on Monday,” says Shotwell Floral Company Vice President, JD Shotwell.
 
Shotwell has four delivery drivers working this Valentine’s.

For next year he plans to have 15.

He expects next year to be nearly 10 times as busy.
