Fargo Planning Commission Wants to Keep You Walking
The Fargo Planning Commission is working to keep Fargo a walkable place to live.
The commission held a meeting discussing goals for the city’s Go 2030 comprehensive plan.
The plan is focused on keeping Fargo a comfortable place for walking especially in the downtown area.
The commission says it’s looking at how they can make walking more of a choice, than a chore.
“To make that walk interesting, and a choice as oppose to getting in your car, and driving. That’s really one of the main goals of go 2030, and much of our older downtown area are designed for that. It’s about how do we continue enhancing that,” said Nicole Crutchfield of the Fargo City Planning Commission.
Crutchfield says the upcoming downtown parking garage is one of the reasons they are looking at ways to keep pedestrians interested in walking.
