Officer Moszer’s Thousands of Brothers and Sisters Arrive in Fargo
Many hotels are already full as people from across the state and country are in Fargo to pay their respects to Officer Moszer.
Fargo PD says close to 200 police agencies will be at Officer Moszer’s funeral.
Some are sending one officer, others are sending a whole bus to say goodbye to their fellow brother.
It’s been a busy day for hotels across the metro.
“I had an officer show up last night, tonight half of my reservations are law enforcement related,” says My Place Hotel Manager, Summer Sandness.
Sheriff Jeremy Grohs is one of the many law enforcement officials paying his respects for Officer Moszer and his family.
Grohs traveled six hours to get to Fargo.
“The family ties we have so to speak is beyond imaginable when we feel it everybody feels it,” says Burke County Sheriff, Jeremy Grohs.
More than 5,000 people are expected to fill Scheels Arena.
“The magnitude of this event is far more significant than some people’s nerves and hopefully understand the reason behind it,” says Sgt. Tim Briggeman with Cass County Sherriff’s Office.
By 7:15 tomorrow, 32nd Ave South between Veterans Boulevard and 45th St South will be closed to the public.
Sgt. Briggeman encourages those going to the funeral to carpool if possible.
“Even from law enforcement response, that’s exactly how we’re going to get down to Scheels. Not one person to a car. It’s going to be multiple people inside each vehicle,” says Sgt. Briggeman.
For many of these officers coming to Fargo support is what they’ve come to give, but it’s also how they’re beginning to feel.
“The support that the community of Fargo, West Fargo and the entire country has given North Dakota, Fargo PD, Officer Moszer and his family has been remarkable,” says Grohs.
Sheriff Grohs says the people of Fargo have given a warm welcome to him and outside agencies.
He says while in line at a coffee shop this morning, a stranger even bought him a coffee.
