32nd Fargo Squirt International Hockey Tournament is Growing!

Thousands of hockey players from across the nation and Canada are in Fargo for the last weekend of the “World’s Greatest Squirt Hockey Tournament.”

Nearly 200 teams came to compete in the three weekends of the Fargo Squirt International Hockey Tournament.

Teams are made up of 9 to 10 year old boys.

Edina White and Osseo Maple Grove went head to head for the championship.

But the tournament is about learning good sportsmanship.

“They love it. They get to have a traveling trophy that they take home with them. They also get a trophy for their team and medals. But it’s just really fun because they’re coming to play and there’s good sportsmanship. And it’s fun for them to be cheering each other on to get that win,” says Fargo Youth Hockey Tournament Director Sommer Lockhart.

The tournament is a fundraiser for the Fargo Youth Hockey Association.
