Bacon & Beer Festival Sizzling In The Valley
An event where bacon and beer enthusiasts can unite.
Four thousand people attended the 3rd Bernie’s Wine & Liquors Bacon & Beer Festival.
Bacon has come a long way since Neil Armstrong made it part of the first meal ever eaten on the moon.
Locals took advantage of the food and drink unity.
“We’re here to have bacon and beer together, a really awesome event for Fargo,” says Rachel Reinke of West Fargo.
For one day in Fargo, the world is your bacon oyster.
Bacon snack attacks filled the Scheels Arena with goodies such as bacon cupcakes, bacon ice cream and even bacon apple pie.
“Truth be told, this isn’t about getting drunk. This is about enjoying a wonderful craft beer. And then it’s about enjoying some of the best food Fargo–Moorhead has to offer,” says bacon enthusiast, Erik Hatch.
More than 37 breweries and 20 restaurants participated this year.
Many local business, stepped up their beer and bacon game for this one day marriage.
Eight North Dakota breweries collaborated to bring a special flight of beers just for this event:
- The Fargo Brewing Company & Laughing Sun Brewing- Lamitie Saison Blanc
- Drekker Brewing Company & Rhombus Guys Brewing Company- Nickel Trophy Black Saison
- Junkyard Brewing Company & Souris River Brewing- Peachy Keen
- Bird Dog Brewing & Buffalo Commons Brewing Company- Angry Bavarian
“Everybody is excited about local beer and so we want to make that available and these are just fun to do,” says Drekker Brewing Company Co-Founder Jesse Feigum.
For meat lovers, this is hog heaven where you can schmooze, booze with fatty delicious chews.
Reinke adds, “it’s awesome to sample places that we’ve never eaten before. So I’m sure we’re going to try those out afterwards.”
“They’ve really honed the craft literally and figuratively here and so if people come out here today they’re going to experience the best they’ve done yet,” says Hatch.
With the rapid growth of the festival and no stopping the craving, vendors are working to satisfy your hunger and thirst.
Due to the popular demand, this is the first year the festival offered two sessions.
