Fargo Marathon 5k Renamed “Hero Run”

In honor of Officer Moszer and the heroes that serve our community, the Fargo Marathon has made some changes to this year’s race.

The marathon’s Friday night 5k run/walk has been renamed the Friday Night 5k Hero Run.

Runners are encouraged to bring their American flags, to show their support for law enforcement, veterans, firefighters and others that serve or have served our community.

“These people behind the scenes make the marathon look really good, and behind the scenes they make this a great place to live. So we wanted to do something that would honor all the hero’s, and the hero’s that aren’t even here today,” said Mark Knutson of the Fargo Marathon.

All proceeds from the run will go to support law enforcement and other first responding agencies.

The Knutsons have set a goal of 10,000 people they hope will participate in the run.
