Celtic Pride Fills The Metro

The Hjemkomst Center is known for sharing Scandinavian culture, but today things got Gaelic.

The center celebrated the 13th annual Celtic Festival offering crafts and activities from all seven Celtic nations.

People enjoyed everything from Irish dancing, Celtic Food and of course what Celtic festival would be complete without a kilt and bagpipes.

“Because we do represent all seven Celtic nations we have a lot of people that are Irish but there are also Scottish people, people from Wales, the Welsh people, and Brittany, and Cornwall and Galicia and all these other places,” says Fargo Park District Program Coordinator Sam Larson-Frobig.

Last year’s festival brought in a record 2,600 people.

Organizers hope to beat that record this year.
