American Diabetes Association Sends Americans a Wake Up Call
All it takes is one minute and seven questions to find out your chances of developing type two diabetes.
The American Diabetes Association is asking the public to take a diabetes risk test.
Risk factors include fatigue, thirst, headaches and constantly going to the bathroom.
Yet, these signs often show up too late when the disease is already out of control.
Nearly 30 million Americans live with diabetes but many are diagnosed seven to 10 years after developing the disease.
“It’s very important especially that we’ve heard about new things coming out that by the year 2020 1 in 3 Americans are going to have diabetes,” says Essentia Health Registered Dietitian, Jenny Bednar.
The test asks questions regarding age, gender, physical activity and other health conditions you may have.
