First Responders Make Another Overdose Save
Police are crediting a good Samaritan and an overdose drug with saving the life of a Moorhead man.
Police responded to the 1200 of 2nd Avenue South in Moorhead after a call came in about a man not breathing due to a possible heroin overdose.
Crews from F-M ambulance gave the 38-year-old man Narcan, which helped reverse the effects of the overdose.
Moorhead Police Lieutenant Tory Jacobson says the investigation is complete and there are no pending charges in this case.
“The people our initial 911 made for lifesaving measures, and for that reason the Good Samaritan Law will apply. There will be prosecution immunity for the person that called as well as our victim here,” said Lt. Jacobson.
Police officials say this is the fourth reported drug overdose in the last seven days.
Four people have died in the last few weeks from fentanyl laced heroin in the F-M area.
