Students at North High “Smash Out” Cancer

Students at Fargo North were caught vandalizing a car on the school campus, but it was all for a good cause.

As a part of the school’s “Smash Out Cancer” fundraiser, students were able to pay a small fee, and take a swing with a sledgehammer at a purple car, symbolizing cancer.

Organizers say the event is a fun way for students to show their support in fighting the deadly disease.

“That’s exactly what the idea is, that we as volunteers for the American Cancer Society, we are trying to do everything we can to figuratively and literally to smash out cancer, and this just helps us put a visual to that for students,” Tammy Osvold of Relay For Life Event Advisor.

All proceeds will be donated to the American Cancer Society.
