Fargo’s Deputy Mayor Speaks to Students About Transportation Alternatives

Students at Davies High had the chance to learn how using alternative transportation to help keep a few dollars in their pocket.

Fargo Deputy Major Mike Williams spoke to students about how Fargo is becoming more of a community that caters to walking, biking, and public transportation.

The presentation is a part of the “Living on Your Own” course, which teaches students the skills needed once they have flown from the nest.

“Having one car instead of two cars can save you $9,000 a year so where you choose to live, and if you’re located in an area where you can walk, bike, and take the bus, that saves you a lot of money,” said Fargo Deputy Mayor Mike Williams.

“Living on Your Own” is one of the elective courses offered at the high school.
