UND Hockey at the Frozen Four; Mike and Ted are in Florida!
We begin with UND’s latest attempt to nab a national title at the Frozen Four.
KVRR’s Sports Director Mike McCann and Ted Leroux are in Tampa Bay to bring us live coverage through Saturday.
Welcome to sunny Tampa, Florida!
It is not raining, that is a very good sign and we’re not used to that.
In about 24 hours, these steps are going to be full with North Dakota fans going into Amalie Arena to watch the Fighting Hawks take on Denver.
When you think about UND Hockey and the last three years, this is of course, the third consecutive trip to the Frozen Four…we’ve talked about that an awful lot but this one’s different for a few reasons.
One, you think about two years ago, going to Philadelphia…last year in Boston, those are both Northern climates. It’s much colder there in early April than it is in Tampa, Florida.
But I think the Hawks are hoping that the results on the ice will certainly be different than those two previous ones.
Two years ago in Philly, that heartbreaking loss to Minnesota…then last year, they got so close…that third period deficit…they were able to claw their way back into it against Boston University but still, just to fall short.
We’re going to have a lot more on why UND players say to them, this is a business trip more than anything.
We’ve got you fully covered when it comes to UND Hockey in the Frozen Four. Check out the KVRR Sports headlines on KVRR.com for more with the players today and tune in at 9:00pm and 9:50 for more LIVE coverage!
