It’s that time of year… Steam Season!

The steam season is underway with the first steam event of the year.

Half a dozen models of steam engines filled Larson Welding and Machine Company in Fargo along with some steam engine enthusiasts from across the country.

Some of the engines will be featured for the first time in the annual Steam Threshers Reunion in Rollag.

Many say it’s a passion that starts young and often lasts for a lifetime.

“I was raised on a farm around tractors I always enjoyed mechanical things although I didn’t make my living doing that but I didn’t make my living doing that but I always enjoyed working on things, tinkering and I always liked older farm equipment,” says Kee Groshong of Missouri.
 
Groshong says his favorite event is Western Minnesota Steam Thresher’s Weekend in September which features a variety of farm equipment.

He says he’s been going for the past 38 years.
