New Sidewalk Art Trailing Through Moorhead
The first few pieces of Moorhead’s sidewalk art are in, but one was already damaged by a foot print before the cement dried.
The first imprint can be found near Rustica on Main Avenue.
The $14,000 project was funded by the community.
The city reviewed hundreds of art entries and chose roughly 80 to stamp.
All the pieces are original work varying from poetry to drawings.
The art will be on sidewalks downtown and near Concordia College.
“It’s part of the community literally putting their stamp on where we live. And it was something the community seemed to be really excited about,” says Moorhead Mayor Del Rae Williams.
The city plans to have a reception for the sidewalk art this fall.
