Dakota Fusion Futbol Club Hits The Field

The metro’s first ever locally owned semi-pro soccer club hits the field for its game opener.

Members of the team split up and played against each other for their first game of the season but competition will soon be heating up for the team.

This year’s schedule includes ten games, five away and five are home.

Come June, they’ll even welcome a Canadian semi-pro team to the field.

“This is a catch, this is what we wanted to do. A lot of kids they don’t find anything so they just go away from soccer so we wanted to introduce this team so that they can stay with soccer and they have opportunity to play furthermore,” says Dakota Fusion Futbol Club CEO, Sajid Ghauri.

Dakota Fusion launched just two months ago with 32 players making up the team’s roster.

Next year, the team plans to join the All American Professional League.
