Mother’s Day at the Zoo
It was a celebration of all kinds of moms at the Red River Zoo.
Moms enjoyed free admission, while checking out some of the zoo’s own mothers.
The zoo recently welcomed four baby Jacob sheep, a rare heritage livestock breed.
The baby lambs are a part of the brand new children’s zoo farm.
“The Red River Zoo is really here for families. We’re a cultural asset to the community and what a great way to spend Sunday afternoon with your mom and your family here at the zoo. It’s just beautiful grounds, beautiful surroundings,” says Red River Zoo Executive Director, Lisa Tate.
Mother’s Day is one of the zoo’s most popular days.
The zoo’s director expects close to 2,000 visitors.
