Grand Forks County Sheriff’s Office Releases Anonymous Tip App
Law enforcement in Grand Forks County is making it easier for you to say something if you see something.
They have launched Tip 411, a crime tip app available for both iPhone and Android users.
The app lets people send anonymous tips to the sheriff’s office, with the option to attach photos or video.
The sheriff’s office previously partnered with Grand Forks Police and UND Police for a joint app, but officers say a separate app will help them respond more quickly.
“It’s a good thing to work with the community and it’s a good thing to help us be a little bit more proactive instead of reactive,” says Lt. BJ Maxson with the Grand Forks Sheriff’s Office.
Officers are quick to point out the app is for non-emergencies.
You’re still encouraged to dial 911 in an emergency.
