Stuck Waiting? Moorhead’s Mayor Posts Petition Pushing for Underpass
Waiting for a train is a normal part of anyone’s drive around the metro.
But Moorhead Mayor Del Rae Williams wants that to change.
She’s calling on the Minnesota Legislature to pass a bonding bill that includes building an underpass at 20th/21st Streets South and Main Avenue.
To get her message across, Williams is asking people to sign an online petition.
“I would rather that we made an effort then just watched it happen to us so if there is no bonding bill I don’t want it to be that we didn’t try to do something to spur them on,” says Moorhead Mayor Del Rae Williams.
The petition already has close to 500 signatures.

Williams says safety is the number one reason the city needs an underpass.
She says the Moorhead Fire Department is delayed around nine times a month when responding to an emergency.
