Summer Season Brings More Tourists To The Metro

The summer season is bringing more visitors to the metro.

Through June almost 10,000 visitors have stopped by the Visitor’s Bureau Center.

That number is up by almost 9% compared to last year.

North Dakota’s campaign featuring Josh Duhamel is one of the reasons for the increase in visitors.

North Dakota tourism received more than a billion social media impressions from the launch.

“We sell Fargo, Moorhead, West Fargo as obviously a more urban center with things to do for people, nightlife, excellent dining options including all of the chains you could ever want but also a lot of unique dining downtown,” says FM Visitor’s Bureau Center President, Charley Johnson.

The visitor’s center has increased its marketing internationally.

Just today, people stopped by all the way from Norway.

Johnson says most of the international travelers come from the Nordic region.
