New Playground at Agassiz Provides Unique Perk for All Kids

With a zip-line, slides, and climbing sets, the Agassiz handicapped accessible playground is complete.

The $100,00 project opens up to the public outside the west end of the Agassiz school in Fargo.

At least nine local companies gave thousands of dollars to the playground.

It even has a slide for hearing impaired kids, designed so the static from the slide doesn’t interfere with their hearing devices.

“We believe in fitness. It’s so much better than sitting in front of a video game to be playing on monkey bars, so we’re very excited to get kids out and active,” said Fargo Public Schools District Grant Writer Connie Nelson.

Nelson says this project was five years in the making.
