Hope Inc. Helps Disabled Athletes Roll Around The Bases
Ball players who normally don’t get a chance to show off on the diamond are getting some at-bats thanks to Hope Inc.
The group started a wheelchair softball league at Miracle Park in Moorhead.
Some players come from as far as 90 miles away to play.
Able-bodied family members can also join in the game by borrowing a wheelchair.
Athletes say they’re thrilled for the chance to come together and play.
They say wheelchair sports are starting to grow in popularity in the area.
“The cool part is, the adults that are disabled acting with the kids that are disabled and the able bodied people. It’s just a lot of fun,” says player Jeff Muralt.
If you want to grab a glove and join in, they play every Thursday at 7 p.m. at Miracle Park through August.
