Elementary School Principal Charged With Theft
Shannon Dahlberg, Principal of Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton School District Elementary School is charged with felony theft according to Clay County Court records.
The superintendent of the district was just informed of the charges, and addressed it tonight at the school board meeting.
The complaint states Dahlberg would use the self–checkout lane at Sam’s Club in Moorhead to scan low price items while keeping high dollar items in her cart.
She is believed to have been doing this since November and is accused of taking merchandise that adds up to $1,400.
“Basically we were notified that there are felony charges that involve a person that is employed with our school district. Shannon Dalhberg. The charges have nothing to do with public funds so this is all outside of the school district relms,” says Bryan Thygeson, DGF Superintendent.
The superintendent says typically in situations like this, employees are placed under administrative leave until the investigation is complete.
Dahlberg is scheduled to appear in court on September 16.
