Bison Football Stuns #13 Iowa

NDSU Football proved its dominance over the FBS once more, as the Bison went on the road and defeated #13 Iowa 23-21 Saturday at Kinnick Stadium.

The Herd opened the scoring in the 1st quarter when MJ Stumpf intercepted Iowa quarterback CJ Beathard and returned it for a touchdown.

NDSU trailed late in the 4th until quarterback Easton Stick found former Moorhead Spud Chase Morlock wide open in the end zone on a short TD pass. North Dakota State elected to go for two and take the lead, but Stick’s pass was deflected and the try failed.

However, that’s when the defense stepped up, forced a three-and-out, and gave the offense the ball. Stick promptly marched the Bison down the field, and set up a 37 yard field goal for Cam Pederson. Pederson’s try snuck inside the right upright as time expired, giving NDSU a 23-21 win.

The win marked 6 straight against FBS opponents for the Herd. Watch KVRR Local News at 9 for highlights and reaction.
