“All About Pink” Event Raises Breast Cancer Awareness

As breast cancer awareness month continues, the “All About Pink” event kicks off at West Acres Mall.

Local organizations and individuals teamed up for the third year in a row to raise breast cancer awareness.

Participating organizations include Sanford Hospital, Women’s Way and the YMCA.

West Acres says they will donate $5 for every pink pride photo on twitter, tagging @WestAcresMall with the hashtag #WAgoesPINK.

“I think it draws an awareness and people ask questions. So the more that we can just educate people and help them understand really what the message is, I believe it is helpful,” Breast Nurse Navigator Nancy Anderson says.

They encourage the community to fill out kindness notes which will be given to breast cancer survivors.
