Fargo Native Bobby Vee Has Died
Pop music icon and teen idol Bobby Vee has died. Vee was 73.
The Fargo native was launched into fame after Buddy Holly’s plane crashed en route to Moorhead in 1959. That’s when Vee performed at the Winter Dance Party in Moorhead, which is known as “The Day the Music Died.
Vee’s first hit single was “Suzie Baby. Vee became a teen idol, and appeared on “American Bandstand” with Dick Clark.
He was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s in 2011.
Funeral arrangements are pending.
