Jail Chaplains Host Annual Silent Auction Fundraiser
An annual silent auction fundraiser was held for jail Chaplains at the Holiday Inn in Fargo.
The organization’s mission is to help local criminals overcome addictions and rejoin society through Christianity.
The fundraiser sold out with nearly 700 people in attendance.
As part of the event jail Chaplains introduced those in attendance to some of the people the organization has helped.
“We will have a good number of returning citizens, former inmates that are with us,” said Executive Director Gerri Leach. “Those who have struggled with addiction and overcome it and maybe some who are still struggling. We come together tonight and we look forward with hope and we see some lives that have been changed.”
Leach says the organization hopes to raise about $85,000 with the event to meet their annual budget needs.
Last year the event raised about $75,000.
