He was elected governor of North Dakota three times and so far to the U.S. Senate once.
This year, John Hoeven faces two competitors for re-election.
Former North Dakota Governor and current U.S. Senator John Hoeven now has two opponents: Democrat Eliot Glassheim and Libertarian Robert Marquette.
Glassheim says there’s a new wave of democratic voters which may give him a shot at victory.
He says current Senator Hoeven is a prime example of “the establishment.”
“I want to get into the senate and be the 51st Democratic voice to help break the law jams and to work with Republicans,” said Democratic candidate Eliot Glassheim.
Marquette says Washington has succumbed to corruption and greed.
He says when at the debate, he couldn’t tell the difference between Glassheim and Hoeven.
“I’m not interested in serving the special interests. I’m only interested in serving the state of North Dakota,” said Libertarian candidate Robert Marquette.
Senator Hoeven says he does not want to focus on attacking his opponents and instead focus on moving North Dakota forward.
“I believe in limited government that empowers people, reducing the regulatory burden and reforming the tax code, balancing the budget and strong support for law enforcement and our military,” said U.S. Senator John Hoeven.
Hoeven and his wife say they plan on spending election night with fellow republicans at the Ramada in Bismarck.
