Moorhead Prepares To Pick New City Manager

It’s down to two candidates in the running to be Moorhead’s city manager.

Fifty-one people applied for the position.

At the end of November, that number was narrowed down to four people by the city council.

Two out of the four withdrew.

People in the community got a chance to meet the two finalists who are Larry Kruse, a former city administrator in Willmar, Minnesota and Christina Volkers, a court executive officer for the San Bernadino Superior Court in California.

“Invitations went out to specific people because we wanted to make sure they were thinking about it and planning to be here because we would want them to have a feel for what really happens in Moorhead and get it right from the people involved in it,” said Moorhead Mayor Del Rae Williams.

The council will meet Friday morning to interview the two candidates.

The public is free to join the meeting at 9 am on the first floor of Moorhead City Hall.
