GRAND FORKS, ND — A string of gunshots were heard overnight throughout the downtown neighborhood of Grand Forks.

Police say a man tried breaking up a fight by firing gunshots in the air with a pistol.

Officers arrived just after 10:00 Thursday night and say the people in the fight left.

The man who fired the shots may still face charges.

At around 4:00 a.m., police responded to multiple gunshots near the 200 block of Walnut Street.

One person told officers he was chased by the suspect.

Officers did not make any arrests.
