Sanford Patients on the Move to the New Medical Center

Sanford Medical Center Moves Patients Into The New Medical Center

FARGO, ND — F–M ambulances spent a majority of their day transporting patients to the new Sanford Medical Center.

NICU babies, long term pediatric patients, and some ER patients were transported from the downtown hospital once the new medical center opened.

Ambulances made trips every five minutes to transfer around 75 patients.

Nearly 200 volunteers made sure the transition was smooth.

“We made sure that we had the right equipment to do the transfer, that we would have the right personnel,” said Roberta Young, who is with the Nursing and Clinical Services. “If a baby would need a therapist along with a nurse with them…we are allowing for one family member to come along, as well as giving family members directions and greeting them here.”

The new open spaces in the Downtown facility will be turned into an urgent care center.
