Concordia Campus Ministry Holds Blessing Service for Pets
Whether you wanted to bless your dog, cat, rabbit or simply get blessed yourself, all were invited
MOORHEAD, Minn. — At Concordia College, students are invited to bring their pets to get blessed by the campus ministry.
Students and faculty gathered outside of their usual meeting place for chapel with some of their furry friends.
Tons of students walked by to play with the animals and others came to be a part of the unique service.
Whether you wanted to bless your dog, cat, rabbit or simply get blessed yourself, all were invited.
“I think it was an interesting way to get people to come to chapel whether they were passing or whether they actually heard about it. Especially since we were outside. I saw a lot of smiles a lot of crouching down and petting all of the animals. I think it was a really cool way for everyone to enjoy chapel,” said Tyler Egge and Breck Cogswell, both student organizers of the event.
The students who organized the event say they feel it is important to honor all living creatures, not just humans.
