K's Bakery Explains Why to Add Pumpkin to Your Baked Good This Fall

FARGO, ND — If you’re baking this fall, one popular ingredient you may want to add to your recipe is pumpkin!

K’s Bakery in Fargo makes many different festive treats with pumpkin including bars, bread and even cheesecake.

They said for all you bakers out there, adding pumpkin to a recipe adds a lot of density and moisture, but takes out a lot of fat and calories.

They also said pumpkin tastes better with time.

“The first day you have it, it’s good,” said owner Karen Wills. “But, if you hold it over a second day when you give it a chance to sit, it’ll get moister and just better.”

Although there are many different variations of pumpkin treats made in the fall, K’s Bakery says Pumpkin Pie is still the most popular dessert bought for Thanksgiving.
