West Fargo Boys Soccer Eyeing Another State Title as EDC’s Top Seed

The Packers finished the regular season 10-2-2

WEST FARGO, N.D. — West Fargo’s boys soccer team are the east’s top seed in the State Tournament with a 10-2-2 EDC record.

The Packers are the defending state champions, and they also won it all back in 2014.

The team has slumped off a little since starting the year 8-0, but now that they state tournament is here, the records no longer matter.

“Everyone is equal,” senior Noah Schaeffer said. “We are all 0-0 in the state tournament. We gotta go out and win three games. It is nice to have a bunch of guys back that have some state experience last year. It’s always helpful.”

Thursday’s quarterfinals schedule:

Match 1: West Region No. 1 Bismarck Century vs. East Region No. 4 Shanley/Oak Grove at 12:00 p.m.
Match 2: East Region No. 2 Fargo South vs. West Region No. 3 Bismarck at 2:15 p.m.
Match 3: East Region No. 1 West Fargo vs. West Region No. 4 Mandan, 4:30 p.m.
Match 4: West Region No. 2 Minot vs. East Region No. 3 Fargo Davies, 6:45 p.m.
