11th Annual Fill the Dome to Provide Nearly 275,000 Meals

More than 50 schools in North Dakota and Minnesota took part in this year's food drive

FARGO, ND — Nearly 275,000 meals will be provided to those in need from the fundraising efforts to Fill the Dome.

The student led event collected 185,000 pounds of food and over 40,000 to benefit those in need.

The donations and nonperishable food items will be donated to the Great Plains Food Bank.

Gov. Doug Burgum shared his gratitude with students, sponsors and the community.

Steve Sellent, who is the CEO of the Great Plains Food Bank, expressed his gratitude to the volunteers.

“I am so proud to live in a community where our youth are not only leading the way, not only leading by example, but inspiring so many others to take action to end hunger,” Sellent said.

More than 50 schools in North Dakota and Minnesota took part in this year’s food drive.
