UPDATE: Body of missing male found in Red River identified

UPDATE: The body of a missing man recovered from the Red River on Friday has been identified.
Clay County Sheriff Mark Empting says the man was identified as 63-year-old Terry Melting who was reported missing out of Fargo.
Melting’s vehicle was located unoccupied in the area of 60th Avenue and 7th Street SW in rural Clay County on Friday. When deputies arrived at the location, they determined the vehicle belonged to Melting and began searching the area for him.
Melting has been transported to the Ramsey County Medical Examiners Office in St. Paul for an autopsy, but no foul play is suspected.
NEAR MOORHEAD, Minn. – Clay County Sheriff Mark Empting says law enforcement recovered a body in the Red River of a male who was reported missing.
Authorities say the body was found around 4:30 Friday afternoon near 60th Avenue South just south of Moorhead. Sheriff Empting says his office knows the identity of the person found, but is not releasing it right now.
The body is being sent to Ramsey County for an autopsy.
