Update: Police searching for person of interest in Dilworth shooting

DILWORTH, Minn. (KVRR/KFGO) – One man was shot in the leg in Dilworth Thursday morning and police are searching for the man they believe is responsible.  Police Chief Ty Sharpe says 37-year-old Christopher Lussier was taken to Sanford Medical Center in Fargo, where he underwent surgery.  Sharpe says the bullet wound is not life-threatening.

The shooting occurred at 202 5th St. NW, north of Highway 10.  A 911 call, of shots fired, came into Red River Regional Dispatch at 7:30.   Sharpe says the shooting followed a dispute between Lussier, who was shot.  37-year-old Dennis Hackley ran northbound from the apartment building and police are searching for Hackley.

Sharpe says the shooting took place in a stairwell of the building.  Investigators believe five shots were fired.  There is not believed to be a threat to the public.  Dilworth and Moorhead police responded to the scene along with Clay County deputies.
