Details set for Gustafson funeral Wednesday

WEST FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) – Northview Church in south Fargo will open its doors at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday for the funeral for West Fargo Police Officer Adam Gustafson. The service is scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m. at the church, located at 3401 25th St. S.
Masks are optional. Public parking, including handicap accessibility will be available in the parking lot. Law enforcement will direct the public as they arrive.
Following the service, the public will be asked to remain seated while family and law enforcement exit the church. A short ceremony consisting of a three-volley salute and the playing of taps will take place before the procession.
The procession will head south from the church on 25th St., west on 40th Ave. S. and then north on Veterans Blvd/9th St. E. before turning east on Main Ave. Police will close 25th St. S. from 34th to 37th Ave. S. until the vehicle procession has cleared.
The Fargo Police Dept., Fargo Fire Dept. and the Cass County Sheriff’s Office will respond to calls for service in West Fargo the city on Wednesday. All West Fargo city offices will be closed.
Gustafson died while on duty May 18. The Cass County Coroner’s office says Gustafson died from a heart attack caused by coronary artery disease and a major arterial blockage.
